On Air Ltd. was founded in Israel in 1982 as an equipment
rental and service center for the broadcast industry in the
country.
On Air today, operates 70 ENG and EFP camera units in PAL and
NTSC maintained by a team of 11 full time professionals in different
technical capacities. On Air continuously updates its equipment
and is in daily contact with its clients, passing on information
concerning industry changes in world and local markets.
On Air periodically purchases new cameras and accessories, invests
in peripheral equipment including special camera accessories,
lighting and grip equipment, production vehicles and much more.
On Air supplies when requested, video crews; cameramen, soundmen,
assistant cameramen, lighting engineers, assistant producers,
editors and the like. All crew members hold valid government
press cards. An advantage of using an On Air crew is that it
arrives at the location or pick up area, with the equipment
already in the production van, thus avoiding time lost checking
equipment at On Air's offices, a savingwhich is passed over
to the producer. On Air has set up a technical service department
called Protech.
The department is headed by engineer Alex Papirov Msc., a graduate
of Sony, Canon, Fujinon and Century courses in the US as well
as Sony and BBC Studios, UK. On Air's Protech department is
the official maintenance lab for Anton Bauer, Lectrosonic and
others in Israel.
Protech handles and services all of On Air's equipment and provides
external services to other companies as well. On Air's Protech
is completely independent and does not depend, for its day to
day activities, on any external company. On Air uses only genuine
official spare parts obtained from local suppliers as well as
from abroad and strives to complete all services as quickly
as possible.
The department engineers are on call 24 hours a day at the main
lab which is located in Jerusalem.
On Air's rental equipment is suitable for any type of production
needs: television reporting ,news spots, short documentaries,
docudramas, full length dramas, drama series and commercials
